The Baptist Theological Seminary, Budapest has been open to international relations throughout its history. Among the most significant was the Eastern European seminary launched with the support of missionary brothers from the United States prior to the change of political system. IBLA (International Baptist Lay Academy) was the name given to a significant international educational program that provided theological education to students in countries where the social order was less favorable to Bible study and evangelism.
Founded in the 1990s, the International Teaching Ministry (ITM), the International Bible Study Foundation, has been in close cooperation with our theology for as long as it has had an office in Hungary (until 2015). The TCM International College and the Word of Life organizations are still in active contact with our institution.
The historical Hungarian-Polish friendship is vivid even in our theological education. Professors from the Radosc Baptist Seminary near Warsaw are involved in our teaching. Our institution is also open to receiving students, for which a program is being developed.
Our Baptist history is deeply rooted in cooperation with Baptist churches and institutions in North America. Currently, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has formed a close relationship with the BTA. Professors are visiting our institution. Our brothers are ready to enrich the professional development of students through a scholarship program. In addition, a major library development program has begun with the support of Baptist churches in Texas. Preparatory work is underway to launch an English-language program at our seminary, which will open Europe-wide access to an accredited MA degree in theology.
